NH Chess Tournament update: Young Stars lead

GM Boris Gelfand: Top scorer at NH Tournament after six rounds

Hello Everyone,

The Experience team is not letting the Rising Stars find it easy going at the NH Chess Tournament in Amsterdam.

The experienced grandmasters defeated the youngsters in the sixth round 3-2. Boris Gelfand had an easy win over David Howell, while Loek van Wely.

The NH Chess Tournament takes place August 12-22 in hotel Krasnapolsky, in the heart of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. As always, the tournament is a confrontation between a team of five young ‘Rising Stars’ and a team of five ‘Experienced’. As of now Anish Giri is leading with a score of 4.0/6.0 among the young players. The player who scores maximum among the Rising Stars will be invited to the 20th Amber Blindfold and Rapid Tournament in March 2011 in Nice, provided he or she scores over 50% in the NH Chess Tournament in Amsterdam.
