Can you beat Chess World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen?

Hello Everyone!

Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen has surprised everyone with his parallel career as a fashion model. But, chess remains his first love. Now, you can also get a chance to play this talented youngster and World No. 1.

The RAW World Chess Challenge is going to be a unique online chess game. Three Grandmasters - Maxime Vachier-Lagrave from France, Hikaru Nakamura from the United States and Judith Polgar from Hungary - will suggest a move each to the players from around the world who register for the event. Players can then vote for the move that should be played against Carlsen.

The event will take place on September 10th, 2010, in New York. The first Afr0-American grandmaster, Maurice Ashley will provide live commentary of the event.

Renowned Chess Grandmaster Maurice Ashley, the world’s first African-American chess player to reach this status, will provide live commentary on the RAW World Chess Challenge.

G-Star - for which Carlsen is the fashion model - is organizing the event with its foundation supporting the United Nations Millennium Campaign.

With the RAW World Chess Challenge, G-Star would like to get children involved in playing chess and stimulate them to use their brains.

You can find more details about the Challenge here.
