Vugar Rasulov is Azerbaijan national chess champion

Hello everyone,


Here is the latest chess news via Fide. The 2012 Azerbaijan Chess Championship for men was held from 22nd to 30th January. Ten players participated in the round robin tournament.


GM Vugar Rasulov defeated GM Sarhan Guliev in the final round to move ahead of the main contender Azer Mirzoev and claim the title of the national champion. Rasulov collected 7 points, while Mirzoev finished with 6.5.
