Tuesday chess puzzle: White to play and draw despite material deficit

Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011

Hi everyone,

Here is a nice puzzle where White has to save the game. Black has a huge material advantage but White can hold this? Can you figure out how?

Ah another one of those typical Chess Blog puzzles - good to study when I get back home with coffee mug. Thanks Chess Queen.

I think there is a mistake because Black Queen can easily give checks and eat up the White pawns. So where do I check the solution?

@Sainath You can move the arrows to see the solution in the flash gameplayer. But can you tell me from where can the Black Queen give checks?

Oh it's too easy. Simple idea the only way White can draw this if they trap the Black Queen. I mean restrict it and then it all falls in place. I don't see any checks happening either. Sorry.
