Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011

Hi everyone,

GM Ehsan Ghaem Maghami from Iran won the blitz chess event as part of the ongoing Dubai Chess Open. Here is the video of the tiebreak that he played against Armenian GM Zaven Andianisian. Maghami won the ENOC Dubai Blitz 2011 Cup.

As you know, the 13th Dubai Open Chess Championship for the Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Al Maktoum Cup is taking place from April 9-19 in the Dubai Chess and Culture Club. It is a nine round Swiss, with time controls of one hour and 30 minutes for the whole game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move.

Meanwhile, in the main event, Grandmasters Parimarjan Negi and Ludvig Jon Hammer are leading with six points each from seven rounds. Seven grandmasters are right behind the duo just a half point away. You can access the complete results here.
