Hello Everyone,

There is lots of chess coming up in Europe for youngsters this year. The World University Chess will be held Zurich, Switzerland from September 5-11.

Eleven grandmasters and nine woman grandmasters are already entered for the tournament. Participants will be from 27 countries. Top seed will be 23-year-old Wang Yue from China. With an Elo rating of 2716 points he is the first super grandmaster to participate in a World University Championship.

In the women’s section, top seed will be 23-year-old Mongolian Batkhuyag Munguntuul (Elo 2421) who has already played on the first board for Mongolia in the last three chess Olympiads. In the recent Grand Prix held in Mongolia capital Ulan Bator, she beat Grandmaster Koneru Humpy.

In the country-wise statistics, (combined results of men and women) Russia is the favourite.
