FIDE Chess Ratings: Caruana 19 points behind Carlsen; Grischuk, Kosteniuk Russia No. 1

Hello chess blog friends, the chess ratings list for October have been released by FIDE. World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen remains at the No. 1 slot with a rating of 2863. However, this time he is not too far away from the rest of the field. Just 19 points away is Fabiano Caruana at the No. 2 spot. Caruana gained a whopping 43 points recently to get ahead of Levon Aronian. Caruana is set to play the Baku edition of the Grand Prix as top seed and the next tournament coming up for Carlsen is the World Chess Championship.

Veselin Topalov is up at 2800, Grischuk is at 2979 while Aronian is at 2793. Viswanathan is next with 2785.

In the women's section, Judit Polgar is still at No. 1 though she has announced her retirement from professional chess. World Chess Champion Hou Yifan of China is next followed by Ju Wenjun, another Chinese. Indian talent Humpy Koneru is in the fourth spot.

FIDE Chess Ratings Blitz, Rapid: Spot Your Favourite GMs!

Hello chess friends, it is exciting to see chess ratings for blitz and rapid chess published by FIDE. The top players in the men's rapid ratings are Hikaru Nakamura 2841, Fabiano Caruana 2840, Alexander Grischuk 2828 and World No. 1 in standard, World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen is at No. 4 with 2827. Vassily Ivanchuk is ranked fifth with 2811 rating points.

April-2013 Chess Ratings: Carlsen Remains at No. 1, Aronian No. 2, Kramnik No. 3

Hi everyone, 


The FIDE April rating list has been published with Magnus Carlsen remaining at the No. 1 slot with the same points as in March  and most of the top ratings remain the same as the Candidates 2013 tournament has not ended yet. Only Boris Gelfand and Vladimir Kramnik have lost nine points and one point respectively from the games at the Zurich Chess Challenge. Here are the top-30 men and women's ratings. Jan 1, 2012 chess Fide rating list: Carlsen at No. 1 spot, Aronian 30 points behind!

Hello everyone,
 
Here is the first chess rating list of the year. The very talented Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen is right there on top with a 30-point lead over Levon Aronian at second place. Also, Fide would now be starting the World Chess Blitz ratings also with the first-ever rated blitz event to be held on Monday at the Hastings Chess Congress.
