Bilbao Chess Masters Round 4: Aronian beats Maxime Vachier-Lagrave to Join Adams in Lead (Round 4 Video)
Levon Aronian beat Maxime Vachier-Lagrave in the fourth round to join Michael Adams in the lead at the VI Chess Masters Final on Friday. The event is being held in Bilbao as tradition goes. Adams, meanwhile, drew with Mamedyarov. All the four Grandmasters are still in reach of the tournament title. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Levon Aronian's game was full of fireworks what with the time control troubling both the players.
Vachier-Lagrave managed to get an edge and was winning when Aronian managed to take a grip on the game and eventually win. Two more rounds are to be played and the champion could well be decided on the final day alone.
