Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2012

Hi everyone,

Baku: The Azerbaijan Chess Federation (ACF) has not given up the idea of building of the Chess Palace. ACF president Elman Rustamov has said the idea of Chess Palace project remains in force. "We already have a draft of the Palace, and we hope to start its building it in 2013,” Rustamov said.

Azerbaijan is the only country in the world where the state chess development program for the period until 2014 is valid, according to a news report. In Azerbaijan, there are currently 70 chess schools, and 66 of them are in the structure of the Ministry of Education. 35,000 children are educating in them, and 1,802 teachers are engaged in the teaching process.
