Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011

Hello everyone,

Epah Tembo
We like to hear chess news from Africa and news reports state that Zambia's Women Candidate Master (WCM), Epah Tembo yesterday continued to lead the girl’s category at the on-going Africa Youth Chess Championships after four rounds of play at the Baobab College in Lusaka.

Lorita Mwaango, another WCM from Zambia, was following closely for second place on the log with three points, with Egypt’s Moaataz Alaa and Selkirk Rabecca of South Africa settling for the third and fourth on two and half points respectively. Zambia’s Douglas Munenga beat Haekon Janneman of South Africa to top the boy’s category after the fourth round of play. Malawi’s Joseph Mwale and Janneman and Maketo trailing in second position on three points, while Bornheim Crag and Francis Pulantila are on two points each.
