Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011

Hello everyone,

Here is chess news for peace. An interesting event was organised recently in Canada. Twenty one youth chess players played the 2011 Youth Chess Tournament for Peace at the 2nd Global Conference on World’s Religions at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, Québec, Canada on September 7, 2011. And, the kids had the unique opportunity of meeting His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama!

The chess event was organised by the Canadian Centre for Ecumenism in collaboration with the Chess'n Math Association and MonRoi Inc. Myriam Roy was the Section A MonRoi PCM Winner and Zachary Saine was the Section B MonRoi PCM Winner.

Celebrating Diversity at the Chess for Peace Tournament, April Whyne, Brana, Maili Jade Ouellet, Dana Berman.

Here is a nice video from the event and you can read further at this link.

Indeed chess for peace. We should have wars fought only on the chessboard. I believe Chess Queen is also an ambassador for peace. Wish the world would heal - chess is surely one of the ways. Thanks for sharing this news Chess Queen.
