Include chess in school curriculum, says Anand

Hello everyone,

World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand has said that chess should be included in school curriculum. He was speaking at an inaugural function in India. He also said, “It would be interesting if we have a premier league like cricket and Pune would be the best place to start one such league."

Commenting on the ongoing World Junior Chess Championship in Chennai, he said, “It has been exciting and distracting at the same time.”

On the notion that western players display more killer instinct than Indians, Anand said, “I have a more relaxed way of showing the killer spirit and i feel all Indians have it too.”
