Hi everyone,

The latest chess news from Dutch shores is about British Grandmaster David Howell leading with a perfect score after four rounds at the 5th Leiden Chess Tournament. It is a nine-round open tournament taking place from July 7-17 with top Grandmasters including Predrag Nikolic (2629), David Howell (2625) and Sergey Tiviakov (2623). The tournament began with a rapid chess match between the current Dutch National Chess Champion Anish Giri and legendary Dutch Grandmaster Jan Timman. After Howell, there are six players at the second spot with 3.5 points each.

You can access the official website at this link. Meanwhile, here is one of the nice Giri-Timman games. Their final score was one point each in the two game match.

Anish had a great performance at the national dutch championships recently and this game just shows how he is evolving.
