Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011

Hi everyone,

Magnus Carlsen began the Biel Chess Tournament with a nice win over Yannick Pelletier. The other two games were draws. The 44th Biel Chess Festival is taking place in Switzerland from July 18-29. The main event - Accentus Grandmaster Tournament - is a six-player round robin section with - Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), Alexei Shirov (Spain), Fabiano Caruana (Italy), Alexander Morozevich (Russia) and Yannick Pelletier (Switzerland).

You can access the official website at this link while here are the first day's nice games. Enjoy.
