London Chess Classic 2010 - Anand beats Carlsen in Round 3, McShane leads

Chess news and chess trivia blog (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2010

The world's two best players shake hands before a long and explosive chess game in Round 3 at the London Chess Classic.

Hello Everyone,

It's fireworks at the London Chess Classic 2010. In Round 3 played on Friday, World Champion Vishy Anand beat Magnus Carlsen. The other games saw Luke McShane drawing with Vladimir Kramnik, Michael Adams drawing with Nigel Short and Hikaru Nakamura drawing with David Howell.

But don't think that the games that were drawn were boring. Far from that. Check them out in our flashplayer below or run the moves in our pgnplayer. You cannot miss seeing them.

For example, what would you say to seven-and-a-half hours of play with 139 moves and the game ends in a draw! Ask McShane and Kramnik!
