Shanghai Chess Masters Grand Slam: Aronian leads after two rounds

A montage of Shanghai photos.

Hello Everyone,

Both the games were drawn in the second round at the Shanghai Chess Masters Grand Slam event featuring four top grandmasters - Levon Aronian, Vladimir Kramnkin, Alexei Shirov and Wang Hao. You can find the official website
here.

In the second round on Saturday, Aronian drew with Shirov while Kramnik drew with Hao.

The two top players from this event will go on to compete with Magnus Carlsen and Viswanathan Anand in Bilbao later this year for the second section of the Chess Masters Grand Slam.

You can watch some nice videos of the opening ceremony here.

Shanghai is known for landmarks like the Bund and City God Temple. It is a modern city famous for the Oriental Pearl Tower. Shanghai is placed on the Yangtze River Delta on China's eastern coast, and is equidistant from both Beijing and Hong Kong.

The Huangpu River flows through the city dividing it into the older or Puxi area and the new or Pudong area.
