Interesting Canadian chess movie teaser released

Hello Everyone,

Ivory Tower is an upcoming 2010 Canadian feature film and the directorial debut of Adam Traynor, a musician from the German-based hip-hop group Puppetmastaz.

The film was co-written by Canadian pianist and rapper Gonzales and French director and screenwriter Céline Sciamma. It is slated for a theatrical release in the Fall of 2010, and stars a variety of Canadian-born musicians, including Gonzales himself, Peaches, Feist and Tiga.

The film revolves around a sibling rivalry between two brothers, Hershell and Thadeus (played by Gonzales and Tiga, respectively), as they compete during a game of chess. Peaches plays Marsha, a former performance artiste and the shared love interest of both brothers.

Gonzales plays Hershall Graves, the inventor of “jazz chess”, who shares the love for performance artistes Marsha (Peaches), with brother and fellow “jazz chess” champion Thaddeus (Tiga). Also appearing during the chess “action” scenes are “Canadian Chess Cyberchannel” journalists, comedy rocker Little Hamm and Gonzales’ longtime friend and creative partner, Feist.

They released a teaser video recently - Chilly Gonzales' 'I am Europe'. Here it is. Don't miss all the chess stuff in it.
