Astana World Rapid Chess Qualifiers Day 1: GM Igor Kurnosov rleads

The World Rapid Chess Championship 2012 qualifiers have begun in Astana today. Three players will qualify for the final of the 24 players taking part in the event. GM Igor Kurnosov is leading with four points in five rounds that were played on Tuesday.

GM Dmitry Andreikin, GM Alexander Moiseenko, GM Vladislav Tkachiev, GM Alexey Dreev and GM Nikolai Chadaev have 3.5 points each. GM Kuderinov, GM Gagunashvili, GM Le Quang Liem and GM Anton Filipov have 3.0 points each.
