M.Chigorin Chess Memorial Chess Fest from Oct 18

Hello chess blog friends, St Petersburg is all set to host the international chess festival M.Chigorin Chess Memorial, 2014 at the “Park” hotel (metro station “Krestovsky ostrov”, Severnaya doroga 12, St. Petersburg, Russia) There is a free bus from the metro station to the hotel. Classic chess tournament – Russian Cup Stage, October 18-26. Entries are accepted from 10:00 till 20:00 on October 17, from 10:00 till 12:45 on October 18 at the playing hall. There will be an additional pairing for the players registered on October 18 from 12:45 till 16:45.

Time control: 90 minutes for 40 moves, 30 seconds increment per move from move 1. Players who are late for the game for 30 minutes get loss by default. No draw offer can be made before move 41.

There is a 20% discount for the following players with ELO:
- women;
- players born before 31.12.1954;
- players born after 01.01.1998;
- international masters.
Prize fund 18,00,000 rubles.

In case of a tie the main prizes are shared by the Hort system, prizes less than 1000 rubles are not paid out. Special prizes are not shared. A player can get one prize with one exception: "women" and main prizes are cumulative.

The best seniors prizes can be awarded to a player born before 31.12.1954, best juniors – born after 01.01.1998, gentlemen - born 1955-1969.

Players who were not able to get their prizes at the closing ceremony can only get 50% of the prize afterwards.

The winners get Cup Russia points according to the Russian Cup 2014 regulations.

Blitz tournament – October 17, 17:00.
13 rounds Swiss. Time control: 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment per move.
Entry fees: 500 rubles (under 16, over 60 and women – 400 rubles), entries are accepted from 10:00 till 16:45 on October 17.
Prize fund 200000 rubles.

In case of a tie, the final standing is determined by:
- Buchholz;
- Median-Buchholz;
- progressive score.

In case of a tie the prizes are not shared. A player can only get one prize. The prizes are not paid out after the closing ceremony is over.

The best senior prize can be awarded to a player, born before 31.12.1954, best junior – born after 01.01.1998.

Accommodation.
Several grandmasters can get special conditions on agreement with organizers, Russian Cup 2014 regulations are taken into account.
All players are obliged to have medical insurance.
Organizers offer the following accommodation at discount prices:
Hotel «Park» (breakfast included):
Single room standard – 1800 rubles/night;
Double room standard – 2200 rubles/night (1100 per person);
Single room comfort – 2200 rubles/night;
Double room comfort – 2700 rubles/night (1350 per person);

The number of rooms for this offer is limited.
