Russian Chess GM Aleksandr Dronov is World Correspondence Chess Champion 2014

Hello Chess Blog friends, do you know it can take up to three years to crown a world chess champion? Yes, that's true for Correspondence Chess!


World Championship 27 finished on 2014-05-09 with GM Aleksandr Dronov of Russia winning the World Title for the 2nd time. Previously he won World Championship 22. There are only very few players winning twice the highest title: GM Tõnu Õim (EST) and GM Joop J. van Oosterom (NED).
Congratulations to GM Aleksandr!


Rules
ICCF standard time control 10 moves in 50 days is used.30 days of leave per year are available to each player.
Special leave can be requested from the TD.
No conditionals can be entered.
Ties are broken by the Sonneborn-Berger tie breaking rule.
Other participants can see the games only when they are finished, and at least 30 games are finished in the event.
