Chennai International Chess Open 2013: Babu, Gujrathi, Mozharov Lead after Five Rounds

Hello everyone,

Five rounds have been played at the open chess tournament being held along with the Anand vs Carlsen Chennai World Chess Championship 2013. Grandmaster M R Lalith Babu of India defeated GM Ter-Sahakyan Samvel of Armenia and now shares the lead with GM Vidit Santosh Gujrathi (India) and IM Mozharov Mikhail (Russia) among others. All the leaders have 4.5 points.

Results (Round 5): (Indians unless specified): M R Lalith Babu (4.5) bt Ter-Sahakyan Samvel (Arm) 4, Guramishvili Sopiko (Geo) 3.5 lost to Vidit Santosh Gujrathi (4.5), Mirozev Azer (Aze) 4 drew with V Vishnu Prasanna (4), Loeffler Stefan(Ger) 3.5 lost to Mozharov Mikhail (Rus) 4.5, Popov Ivan (Rus) 4 bt Karthikeyan Murali (3.5), Babujian Levon (Arm) 4 bt Petrosyan Tigran S (Arm) 3, R R Laxman (3.5) drew with Papin Vasily (Rus) 3.5, T U Navin Kanna (3) lost to Drazic Sinisa (Srb) 4, Swapnil S Dhopade (3) lost to Sardana Rishi (Aus) 4, N R Vignesh (3.5) drew with Shardul Gagare (3.5).
