FIDE inaugurates new Rapid and Blitz chess Rating Lists

Hello everyone!

As you can see from the image above, from a post on www.chessqueen.com, with an example of the FIDE Rating card for Alexandra Kosteniuk, FIDE introduced on July 1, 2012 new Rapid and Blitz Rating Lists.

Most people we talked to love it, as it seems that players have different levels of play depending on the speed of the game, so it makes sense to have different ratings. For example, Vishy Anand retained his title of World Chess Champion only in the Rapids, so it is normal his Rapid rating (2794) is higher than his classical rating (2780).

But some organizers and federations have argued that it is tough to manage all the reporting of the results and that it may turn out to be expensive.

What do YOU think, is it a good idea to have separate Rapid and Blitz rating lists? Please vote and see the current results, courtesy of www.chesspolls.com.
