Abierto Chess International from June 23 in Sanxenxo, Spain

Hi everyone,

The fourth edition of the Abierto International de Ajedrez Carlos is going to take place from June 23 to July 1 at the Hotel Carlos I, in Sanxenxo (Pontevedra), the most exclusive beach resort in Galicia, Spain. The 9-round Open will offer 7000 EUR in prizes, with 1100 EUR going to the the winner. GM Dragan Paunovic and GM Aleksa Strikovic are the defending champions. Sanxenxo is a municipality in Galicia, Spain in the province of Pontevedra. It is situated in the southern part of the Salnés region. It is bathed by the Atlantic Ocean in the estuaries of Pontevedra and Arosa, which lie in its western areas. Surely a nice place to play chess!
