Cool commercial with chess motif

Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011

Hi everyone,

Our readers send us lots of chess puzzles and videos featuring chess. We have a series of videos running here on the blog of commercials from around the world featuring chess. Here is  another such interesting video. It's always great to know when chess becomes a motif in other aspects of life. Real great.

Just want to add a bit - "Peggy," is a bearded, clueless and very male credit-card customer-service representative. There is a series of his ads. Thickly accented Peggy works for "USA Prime Credit" in a snowbound shack in the middle of nowhere. His inability to answer simple consumer questions -- beyond giving his phone-bank name and responding to most other queries with a less-than-convincing "yes" -- is the primary shtick in Discover Financial's latest ads from Interpublic Group's The Martin Agency.

The goal, according to the shop and client, is reaching consumers who have endured such service trials and, naturally, portray Discover's offering as superior!!!

Well couldn't resist explaining as I have been a fan of the series. Thanks for sharing Chess Queen. Didn't know there was a Peggy spot with chess too! Must have missed it.

I do that all the time just talk so drifted away into a phone when am playing online. Not fair to make him play chess over a customer's phone. When I go to office i am focused.
