AAI GM Chess R8: Caruana consolidates lead with win over Yifan

Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011

Hi everyone,

Surely Fabiano Caruana is in good form at the AAI GM Chess - a Category 17 tournament - currently on in New Delhi. In Round 8 at the tournament - with only two more rounds to go - the Italian grandmaster comfortably beat the current women's world chess champion Hou Yifan from China even as GM Viktor Laznicka from the Czech Republic lost to Indian Grandmaster Krishnan Sasikiran. Also, GM Parimarjan Negi - current Indian national champion - beat Philippines' GM Wesley So.

1. Caruana 6.5
2. Sasikiran 5.0
3. Laznicka, Wesley So 4.0
4. Negi 2.5
5. Hou 2.0

Here are the nice games sent to us by www.blackandwhiteindia.com. Enjoy. You can also access the official website at www.aaichess.com.
