Amber 2011 R4: Aronian, Carlsen lead

Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011

Hi everyone,

The Amber 2011 Blind and Rapid Chess Festival is a sheer joy. But before we update you on the results and other stuff, here is a cool video to watch.

Now on to the results after four rounds: Levon Aronian and Magnus Carlsen continue to lead. Aronian defeated Ivanchuk, while Carlsen defeated Giri, both with 1½-½ scores. The € 1,000 Game of the Day prize was awarded to Sergey Karjakin for his blindfold win over Vladimir Kramnik. Also the talk of the fourth round was that Magnus Carlsen arrived seven minutes late!

You can access some fun photos and other details at the official website. There is a very detailed full game report available there. Meanwhile, here are the standings after Round 4.
