Twilight chess couple: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

Chess news and chess trivia blog (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2010

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

Hello Everyone,

Guess what - the perfect teen couple of the vampire love romances play chess! Yes, we are talking of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

According to a nice Hollywood snippet, Pattinson and Stewart both play chess, monopoly and Scrabble between takes. They sometimes also play snakes and ladders. How cool!

The report says co-stars Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene also join them for fun during the filming for the fourth and final movie, Breaking Dawn, that starts in Louisiana.

For those who 'joined us late', Twilight is a series of four vampire-themed fantasy romance novels by American author Stephenie Meyer.

It charts a period in the life of Isabella "Bella" Swan, a teenage girl who moves to Forks, Washington, and falls in love with a 104-year-old vampire named Edward Cullen. The series is told primarily from Bella's point of view, with the epilogue of Eclipse and Part II of Breaking Dawn being told from the viewpoint of character Jacob Black, a werewolf.

The unpublished Midnight Sun is a retelling of the first book, Twilight, from Edward Cullen's point of view. The novella The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, which tells the story of a newborn vampire who appeared in Eclipse, was published on June 5, 2010 as a hardcover book and on June 7 as a free online ebook.

So, go on tell everyone, even vampires love chess.

And, here's a video upload of the official 'chess' cover of Breaking Dawn.

Stephanie Meyer tells the meaning of this chess cover in this video. Enjoy!

That means chess and love do go together. I must tell my girlfriend. Thanks Chess Queen. Can you please please please give me a message to tell my girlfriend that she shouldn't get so upset when I go out to play chess.

    Hi Derrick!
Your girlfriend should be so happy you play chess. First it means you're smart, and that's good. Second it gives her free time to do whatever she wants, believe me, that's a great advantage.
Actually, why don't you teach her chess, that way she could go and play chess with you!
    Best wishes,
    Alexandra :-)

@twilight casts - at least they're having fun out of those mind wrecking scenes, good to hear that.
