Women's Tournaments Calendar 2009


Dear Organizers of Women’s Chess Events!

I’m starting a special list with all the women’s tournaments that take place throughout the year. If your tournament is not listed here, please send me an email or post a comment in this blog.

I’m making this list in order to make the women’s chess tournaments calendar as clear as possible and to avoid possible clashes of events.

    Did FIDE announce World Blitz and World Rapid Championships? I am unaware of it.

    That would be a wonderful event to watch and of course for the women players to play in.

    Please Alexandra push FIDE to have that one organized, we could do it here in the USA and maybe ESPN would accept to sponsor it.

    I would like to give you my compliments to your chess blogg. It is really interesting and I am looking forward to read more. It looks great and thanks for your iniative and work about this!

    I am a chessplayer from Sweden and I noticed the calendar about women chess tournament. In Stockholm there will be a WIM-tournament in the period 17-25 June. The organiser is Mr Peter Hlawatsch, the founder of Scandinavian Chess Tournament ( STC) and he is commited to ladies chess.

    I will appreciate if you will list this tournament.

    Please let me know if you need more information and the place for the tournament is Scandic Hotel Täby in the north of Stockholm. It is a closed tournament.
