According to chess specialists this new mark is even better than what they calculate Cuban late world champion (1921-27) Jose Raul Capablanca ever had (2,725) though he played before this performance calculating system was implemented.

Another Cuban who moved up the ranking was Lazaro Bruzon, now in the 45th
position with 2,693 ELO, despite FIDE not computing his earnings in the just concluded continental championship, which he won.

Bruzon is expected to enter soon the privileged 2,700 and above ELO group, keeping up with his steady progression from the world’s 75th to the current one.

Cuba, with this latest update, moved up 3 positions to the 19th, following the US in the Americas.Chess Blog Adminhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15104547188536969941noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7042996779792668316.post-8236870072519886942011-04-30T11:10:08.129-04:002011-04-30T11:10:08.129-04:00Please applaud for Wenjun Ju who has played the ma...Please applaud for Wenjun Ju who has played the maximum number of games this quarter at 29. I just noticed that if we look at the women's list we have spots 1,2 and 3 separated from spots 4-13 by about 40 points only. Also all these 4-13 ranked girls are all just about 2 to 5 to 7 points apart from those above and below. So my reading of the whole thing is that if anyone of the lot ranked 4 to 13 were to gain 40 points they would be in the top-3. Now considering the number of games played and with Anna Zatonskih gaining plus-30 points in 27 games it just means that if any of these girls notch up about 3-4 good tournaments well... the rest, as they would say, is elementary. Let's talk about this folks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7042996779792668316.post-72885633920929566742011-04-30T10:58:10.414-04:002011-04-30T10:58:10.414-04:00Congratulations Chess Queen. It's too private.) Go Chess Queen. Go.alexis cochran, new zealandnoreply@blogger.com
